Issues since upgrade

#1 Post by hybrid » Fri Jan 04, 2013 3:34 am

Some of you may have noticed that there's a couple of issues with the forum since an upgrade to some backend software. New user registrations are broken, as is editing your profile.

We're looking to update the forum software to a more recent version to resolve these issues.

Thanks for the update, Jeff. To further what Jeff said, we recently found that there definitely is a software glitch with our forums that is causing blank pages to appear, such as when you want to view or edit your user profile.

And new member registrations currently cannot be made, so anyone who is wanting to join the group please keep checking back here for updates as to when we'll have the new forum software in place.

We'll have to put the current board into maintenance mode when we're ready to cut over to the new software, so you won't be able to make new posts during that time.

Thanks for the patience....

WOW! This new forum style will take some getting used to. Didn't expect this! Don't like it at all at the moment but I'm sure it'll grow on me. After all, I wasn't keen when we switched from the original board many years ago but eventually I realised how good the replacement was.

Not sure if it's my connection or laptop but I am having a issues with opening up any part of the forum. Seems to take a while before something will open when I click on it. Up to 10 seconds on several occasions. Never happened with the old forum and doesn't happen with other forums I am on. Just this one. :smt017

It's not really that much different.

And lightning fast for me here... anyone else having issues?

You're right - I ever use those links so never noticed.
I guess they're missing from this template.

I'll see if I can get them added. Probably won't be until tomorrow though.

Yes, please try get that tab back. It was the tab I used most. For anyone who follows the forum on a daily basis, it's nice to get on line and click one tab and see anything new since the last visit.

But a change is as good as a holiday so they say.

We'll get used to it.
