Oil pump setup

#1 Post by Ange » Sun Sep 17, 2023 12:22 am

Hi guys just after some help. I’m setting up the pump following the Manuel but am unable to get rid of the slack in the pump cable.
So when I pull on the throttle there is a small delay between the carbies opening and then the pump opening Just wondering is this normal because the only way for me to get rid of the slack is to set the pump of the manual marks and on the rich side.
Any help would be greatly appreciate. TIA

Usually there is no slack between oilpump and Carbs. Closed throttle valve should be alinged with full close mark at the oilpump. (see page 22 of appendices 2)
try to readjust the carbwires with maximum free play of the adjust nut at the throttle grip. the pump wire ist always under tension. if the throttle wire moves, the pump wire also moves.
Cheers
