Throttle stiff

#1 Post by Ange » Mon Sep 11, 2023 7:51 am

Hi guys just wondering what’s the best thing to use to lube the throttle cables. Just having trouble with the throttle. Bikes been restored and everything is working fine and snapping shut with no cables on the carbs. I’ve just installed a new pull cable and even removed the push cables and still can’t use the throttle (even with two hands)that’s how hard the throttle is. Checked the throttle grip and that works fine with no cable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use a can of GT85 attached to one of those cable oiling blocks. Works well but there's always some leakage out of the block.

Sounds like cable ends aren't seated properly.

Take it completely apart and find the problem

Post 6 was him, op Ange, wondering what "duplicate" meant.
Post 8 was an illustration of what a duplicate post is.
What about Post 10?
