Front Discs 8mm OEM v 6mm Options

#1 Post by V4 Stroker » Mon May 01, 2023 4:42 am

So the OEM are 8mm and I'd like some replacements

Could I go for 6mm as 8mm are hard to find?
As it's only going to push the pistons out a further 1mm I figure it should work OK as long as you have new pads and keep an eye on the wear limits

So if 6mm would work OK which OEM Yamaha discs to get?

Which 6mm aftermarket would you suggest?

I used some cast iron floating discs that came off an RZ350 I was working on. They were rusty & ugly so the owner wanted Chinese wave rotors.
I cleaned & painted them and they worked well at a couple track days, no more warped rotors just smooth hard braking!
Unfortunately I have no idea what brand they are or who made them, sorry.
Just know that RZ350 discs will work.
