R6 Front End Conversion Questions Again!

#1 Post by rzmax » Tue Jun 14, 2022 1:32 pm

I've searched for the threads but none have answered my question. I'm installing a 2019 R6 front end. The stem length looks good and I have come with the following bearings that I need for the swap.

This is what I need:
Upper: 30 X 47 X 15
Lower: 31 X 55 X 17

This is what I can find:
Upper: 30 X 47 X 12
Lower: 31 X 55 X 18

This will give me an overall difference of 2mm bearing to bearing. Will the slight difference in height/thickness make a huge difference?

Was going to order them and put it together but thought I would get some opinions first.

Thanks!

As long as the bearing protrudes above the head tube and there is enough height to take up the length of the stem you should be fine.
Might need some 1mm shims.

Agree, you should be able to make them work. Better to be short, so can add shims/washers rather than be long and struggle with enough thread on the stem.

350 needs relatively tall spacers to take up the stem length.
Should be "easier" on the 500.

Thanks for all the info. I have ordered the bearings and I'll update once installed.
