47x frame

#1 Post by wolfgangh » Wed Mar 16, 2022 4:21 pm

Hi folks,
I just purchased my RD500 Nr.4, it is an Austrian 47X model with chassis number 0002227. The engine was never opened, so standard bore, and reported mileage of 15,000km (last registration was in 1990). It had some damage on the R/H side and front cowling, but I have a complete set of NOS fairings on the shelf.
Upon dismantling for a full bolts and nuts restoration I noticed that frame and rear subframe are in 1 piece here, welded together, while on my 1GE the rear subframe is bolted on. I cannot find signs of welding and repainting by the previous owner, it looks as it came out of factory like that.
Whats your information on this? Can this be stock or a repair from a previous owner?

The rear subframe is in 2 parts.
Not sure what part you're talking about.
Do you have pics ?

Sorry, was a false alarm, my subframe is detachable, only the 2 upper bolts mounting it to the main frame were missing and it looked like it was spot welded together.
