Dragging up an old thread, but it seemed like an appropriate place to ask this question instead of starting a new thread for it.

Someone told me the NS400R is actually very rare in the USA, and he suspected there might be only 20 or so bikes here. Could there be any truth to that statement?

Only around 400 made it to Canada and NONE to the USA when released in 1986. Some JDM and Canadian private imports in the USA but as far as how many, that is a good question.

I think there are quite a few in the US that are in private collections. They would be a mix of Cdn bikes and overseas imports. There are plenty of JDM NS400Rs in Canada, although they are rarely seen.

All Cdn Spec bikes are in HRC paint. Any Rothman's NS400R is an import.

Only one I've seen with my own eyes is in my garage.

Unfortunately, it's going to have to go to to a new owner.

Too many bikes, too little space. :smt010

Thanks for the insight guys. Its definitely an interesting bike and even more interesting that Honda chose 400cc instead of 500 to enter into the GP replica game.

Smoker, I sent you a PM.
