hi everyone I’m a new 500 owner. my bike first started out with no neutral oil lights or turn signal, tech didn’t work or water temperature. Got those working but then found out my bike was not charging. Went to the service guide to unplug the wiring plug in bottom of left of the engine To check the ohms and plugged it back together and now I have lost everything will not start and issues with all the dash lights etc. I am in the Knoxville Tennessee area if anybody knows or can help with a wiring Mechanic for my 500 thanks Gary

This is a very general statement re rz500 but start by checking and improving the earth/ground/negative connections wherever you find them, and check fuse and fuse connections are ok.

There's one fuse at the battery positive, and a few more in the front right fairing.

There is a bullet connection straight off the battery that gets loose, there's one for positive and negative check/clean/tighten them both.

There's also an earth connection at the rear of the plastic battery box that needs pulling apart, cleaning and putting back on properly.

Using a multimeter check negative has continuity between the neg battery terminal and any other bit of metal on the bike.

Has to be something with the connection you opened to test, Did one of the wires get pushed out of the connection block when you pushed it back together,
The bike will start and run without a battery, so thats not the starting problem, Did you pull a plug and check it for spark, At least that will tell you ifs its electrical or fuel....
