Front fairing bird cage... RG500 vs RG400 vs RG250

Hello,

I drove 4 hours away from my home last year to pickup a birdcage/front frame for my RGx00 project and some other parts.
The whole trip seems to have been a disaster.

The front forks I picked up were slightly bent, judging by the internals modified for racing... (There was plastic tubes inside), the caliper mounts had been threaded... (Sorry waaaaa)


And it seems I have gotten an RG250/400 bird cage?
I have a crushed/crashed RG500 cage. I seems to show a fixture on each side which comes down to mount front signal lights.
Otherwise the cage seems to be a fit. (Not that I have enough of a bike to know for sure).
I note my RG500 manual seem show the cage as not having the signal mounts, I assume it was not modified from Japanese specs.

The bird cage I have appears to be identical, but without the side mounts. There was a RG250 front fairing there hence my primary suspicion.

Does anyone have experience with this?

the previous owner may have try to combine the RG500 birdcage with the VJ22 birdcage. That's what I did. I got the idea from a gentleman in the UK where both birdcages where grafted into one to run USD forks. Let me go up on the rafters and I will send you some pictures of the birdcage and the other one on the bike.

RG250 front indicators mount on separate brackets bolted to the birdcage on both sides.

What I posted was a hybrid of an RG500 and a VJ22. I’ll post tomorrow an RG500 birdcage if you like

There are different birdcages for the RG500. Bikes with flush mounted signals (Like JDM) use a different birdcage than bikes with stalk mounted signals (Like Canada). There are 2 different part numbers for the birdcage. If you can't attach stalk mounted signals to yours you may have a JDM birdcage.

Yes mine is a match to those in yahoo auctions... But is from right here in Canada.
Uh! Oh well my bike will be a Frankenstein anyway.
