TZ 250 AT CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS WITH TELEMETRY

#1 Post by rz500guytexas » Wed Aug 26, 2020 1:23 am

Was great to see track resurfaced. Several sections are original but gound down. I will get some pictures loaded. The bike did well. Heavy rain Saturday morn that was totally unexpected. I left both bikes out and the 500 would not rev out, wet electronics. Let it sit with fans on controllers. Was near 100 degrees so all was well next day. The 250 is so compact and a bit of a bitch. The 500 is a razor compared to the big lug liter bikes but the TZ is a scalpel or exacto knife. Any input the bike moves. Tightened damper a bit and helped and I think more will help. Did 3 seconds faster than the 500 on first open track laps. Pulled 141mph on back straight but camera was on tank so could not get chin down. Should have ran near 145mph. Second lap of video my foot came of peg in exiting turn 15 and hit pavement then miss shifted. My hip and back felt it but still pulled a high 2:47. That next lap due to fatigue ad pain about low sided but saved it like Marquez. Happens at about 7:14 in video on right into turn 13. I was toast at that point after two days of heat. At least it was the last session and I only did a few more moderate laps because I was hurting. Again will get some picture and hope some other video uploaded as time allows.
OH AND THE GARMIN VIRB CAMERA IS THE BEST!

Glad you are coming to terms with the tz - nothing like them! Must have been good to get it back on a more familiar track too.
Interesting vid, got a kick out of the front end coming up, and the roll meter and g's is amusing. Although the g circle and the representation on the speedo takes a second to figure out.

I was wandering what info to add to video. Some of it is a template and other things can be customized. I finally fiqured to turn camera on at turn 1 when getting on track. That way it would track laps better. The camera is really nice. The bike is a hoot.

Thanks for letting me know. End up if you say video is approved for children you can not comment. Never realized. I need to come over and do a dyno run with new pistons so I stop over revving the bike.
