Always a bit risky to put a guy from 4 wheels to 2 wheels.
Michael Schumacher tried it and crashed.

I think they are used that they can go to the limit of the car.
If they reach the limit or go over it they can feel it as the car starts sliding to the side, nothing else happens.
Thats why they are very fast when they try it the first time.

On a bike without electronics this will end in the gravel within the first fast lap.
Maybe the electronics/datalogging pointed out that he should go a bit slower because he is over the limit and the little electronic helpers are preventing him from a crash every second corner.

By the way, Michael Schumacher was 2008 on my favourite track (Pannoniaring).
He was only 3sec faster than me
Ok... it was the first day for him on the bike on this track :smt005 But his bike was a well modified modern bike against my old close to stock R1.

RD350 YPVS 31K 1985
Honda CBR 1000 RR SC57
Yamaha R1 RN04

He is fast out of the gate for 3 reasons.

1. He has access to the very best medical support on the spot. No worries about cost or level of treatment.

2. He has the budget to crash and burn any vehicle he rides/drives with out concern for replacement.

3. The above 2 facts allow him to exploit the talent he has and work towards the next level without concern for access to health care and crash repair budget - the 2 biggest hindrances to us regular joe amateurs :)
