So I decided to splurge on some new glass for the D3300 that we normally use with a Nikon 18 - 300
Decided on the Tamron 150-600 as it was on sale. First day we went out to Brazos Bend State Park and
learned that the 930mm equivalent zoom on the DX D3300 was just too much for general work lugging around.
We needed a second body - and rumor is Nikon is possibly going to drop some new bodies
on the market this year, so thats why the D750 keeps going on sale and being discounted. D750 it is then.
That way the 150 - 600 can be enjoyed in its Full Frame glory.
All that was left was for us to head out someplace and test the setup out.
Here are a sample of the results from a day out in Brazos Bend State Park.
Did a variety of fauna and flora shots and then towards the end of the day
a National Geographic scene played out!
This body/lens combo is really nice to use.
All the shots where taken with the D750 and the Tamron 150-600

Wow, good day out. I must have spent 30 seconds on the 3rd one from the end before I figured out what I was looking at.
Re: New body & new glass.... and the Alligator photo bomb
Thanks - it was great fun.
And it was only after we got home and studied some of pictures we took (my daughter was piloting the D3300 rig) that we saw all sorts of hidden creatures.
The swamp is an interesting environment. We missed a snake - it was gone before we could snap a picture. Not sure if I want the snakes to be easier to find LOL - the park has a number of very venomous residents.

and the gators bask by the paths .
some are huge.
and allegedly they will hiss and rattle if you are pissing them off by getting too close.
cheers mark
She might not be pretty but always a fun ride !!

Yep, I took the photos in Brazos Bend State Park this weekend. Most of the time you won't even know the gators are watching. If you look around you can see them just hanging around - we did not even see the gator that is leaping out of the water in the last picture until he erupted out the water to grab something.two-stroke-brit wrote:there is a state park close to me (Brazos state park.
