Nice BEMER. Looks like it is in pretty good shape already.

Those seals should be ok, I was just checking to be sure you didn't use the "leak proof" seals, as those are almost guaranteed to leak before you get out of the driveway.

I've had really good luck with Pyramid fork seals.

Thanks pstamper, that's a pick after a fare bit of work was done on it.
It's was sitting outside a lot of it's life at the other owners house.
A mouse had made a nice home in the air breather starter motor area of the engine.
Man, that has to be the worst job ever, cleaning out yrs of mouse sh_t and pee... Its making me sick just thinking about it again...
So after a lot of spit & polish, repainting parts, that's what its looking like.
It has 23,000 miles on it, original paint, still needs the front and back end removed, new tires, more spit & polish, re + re carbs to do a major cleaning of choke circuits, etc...etc...
Runs good after getting the mouse home out and getting the carbs set up.
the rest is all winter work.
Hoping I can get out on Sunday on the rz500 for one last ride if we don't get too much snow here prior.

Love the BMW Frank. Been thinking that way myself recently.

Those engines last forever. Had a friend that was into the older ones. You have done some nice work on it. Had a mouse nest on my Rz6. Luckily I checked before just trying to ride it.

Thanks John and pstamper
Yes, I prefer the older beemers as well.
Very easy motorcycle to work on with a simple design.
I had an old 76 R90S way back when, loved riding that bike, but then I got into moto x racing and the old S was just sitting so I went and sold it. I shouldn't have as the S's now are going for large money...
I picked the R75/6 up for $2800 and it will cost me approx $1000 in parts and getting it safety'd for the road.
By all means John, nice bikes to ride, a bit of a clunky transmission on the old ones but pretty much bullet proof everything, smooth, reliable and quiet... Plus lots of parts out there for them...
