Hi vin ,just a quick one ,I see you started off with the standard carbs , then later fitted the flat slides . was there A significant improvement in performance / ease of setting up , im just wondering which way to go with my bike , which ever way I go I want to use the standard air box ears , i see you started to use the standard ears with the kr1 carbs , did this end up working ok , it just when I looked at your bike at the show I am sure it had filters , thanks again nick

Hi Nick, When I had the standard carbs on and standard ear filters with uni's on the ends the bike performed nicely, since then modifying to fit the kr1s carbs and modified ear air box all I did was to run the bike up the road and back and this went well also. I have now had to fit the kr1s carbs with foam pod filters due to the YZR fairing and as yet not been able to try them out, I may have to make my own air box as I'm concerned about air turbulence affecting these filters but time will tell!

Sorry for the long winded answer Nick but in a nut shell I haven't been in a position to be able to try at each stage the performance gains or losses of these different set-ups but setting up the pwk's was allot easier than the standards and as my previous thread you can still fit the ear filters with some modifications.

Cheers mate , when I spoke to stan Stephens his opinion is that a airbox is a must because of turbulence , but every one I have spoke to who has had pod filters and I have asked few say they have had no problems , thanks again nick

I love how you can see through the middle and there's nothing there but exhaust pipe, makes it look very light. Awesome bike.
