Yes - for those types of days a spare set of cheap alloy wheels and a set of pucka Michelin wets and tyre warmers are well worth the money spent for the peace of mind.

Dubsey. Your bike is still the best build I have seen to date. You have motivated me to start my build again. I am working with a buddy to start a hot motor which should make alot of power. As well, I just picked up the 06 R6R rear swing for a song. I think I might go with the 06 R6R front suspension as well.Is there any advantage over the 04-06 R1 front suspension?

Unfortunately my RG400 RGV250 project and other RZ500 project's were sold, as well as my dirt bike and TZ250, to buy another hot rod. I think I am going to stick this one out as since I was 6 I wanted one, 30 years later here we are. This is the one project that I refused to part out. So far I have the VFR400RR tank, 3MA frame, R6 swing. Next up is the front suspension and wheelset.

One of the reasons I went for that front end was the colour, I didnt realise the fork legs could be anodised :???:
Also I bought the entire front end it was as if someone had just cut it off an R1
I used a lot of the parts and sold the bits I didnt use
so worked out very reasonable
The R6 swingarm is alot of work to get it to fit
Good luck with your project any helpi can give dont hesitate to ask
