They have been stored well and are as new,if they were part of the braking system i might think twice about using them.

You're not riding the bike anyway are you? So it doesn't really matter if they seal or not.

I have been sorting out some mistakes on the bike today, thank you to Paul,John and Phil for your help.I had used the superseded bearing cover which was to short so have now fitted the correct one.I have also changed the rear sprocket bolts to the green ones not bright zinc as per the workshop manual.I have also fitted the last of the green bolts so it`s now nut, bolt ,screw and washer perfect.Hope to get a few hours on it tomorrow and get a few more bits fitted.

Hi guys

new to the forum but mega impressed! This rebuild is stunning.

Started building my 85 1GE, got most parts but really struggling for a grab rail. Anyone got one?

Thanks

Hi

thanks Steve. Will post photos of progress so far once I have worked out how to do it!

I am afraid it's not to the same quality as this one!!!

All in a million bits at the mo, going to be standard-ish. Barrels at Stan Stephens for rebore, motor cases painted, rescued the gearbox bearings but still trying to get the rest of the valour blast grit out!
Forks rechromed and cranks rebuilt. 2010 is going to be exciting!

Been looking on eBay for a grab rail for over a year, not a show stopper at the mo.

Thanks[/quote]
