Work in progress

#1 Post by theredbarron » Fri Dec 21, 2018 4:17 pm

Here are some pictures of our work in progress. Some of the parts have been a real labour of love to manufacture / install, the Yamaha FZ600 front wheel into the GSX 750 forks along with GSX 400 brake calipers for example.
One day the beast will roll out of the workshop under its own power.

Frame is going to look great with that bracing under the top rail.

Love the angle of the upper pipes. What tail are you using?

Hi Smoker, the tail piece is one i picked up as a swap, it is manufactured by Harris. Next time i'm in the workshop i will get some pics. There is more bracing to be done around the headstock.

Hi lost, the front end took a lot of time and head scratching :smt017 due to me wanting to use parts that i had in the workshop but now it's all together i am really pleased with the end result and also it becomes even more of a one off.

Well done, its gonna be a nice bike!

Only proposal for improvement from my side is the front caliper bracket. I think the collars between caliper and bracket are too long, this could induce too much momentum ( force) into the bracket. I always try to mount the brackets as close to the fork mounts and calipers as possible to limit the stress on the bolts and bracket. You may want to consider a milled adapter bracket providing 2 different levels for fork and caliper?

Hi Wolfgang, i thought exactly the same as you, we will manufacture some different brackets when time allows. Thanks for your input.
