RD500 "VIN plate"

Hi

Anybody got a source for a having the RD500 VIN plate made?
Mine has been removed when the frame has been repainted at some stage by a previous owner. The RZ has a sticker which has been sorted (see top pinned post), while I cannot find anything for the RD. Sent a message to an eBay seller with a picture I got from Steve J. incl the dimensions of the plate (thanks Steve).
Got the following message back:

I can list it here on ebay for you. It takes about a week to produce and ship.
I can do that provided there is no special logo/artwork to redraw.
If its mainly text then no problem.
A good scan and a photo would suffice with the dimensions.
Due to the artwork and setting up costs for a 'one off' it is £146.50 for 2.
I always supply 2 in case of errors when stamping/engraving/drilling/fitting.
If you wish to proceed;
The total price is £146.50 1st. Class, post free, insured with tracking.
I can list it here on ebay for you.

Find that price a little stiff  , even though it´s a "one off". If I can lure him off eBay, might get the price closer to something acceptable if we´re more than one needing this plate. Anybody with a better/cheaper solution? Other sources?
If somebody got a loose plate they could scan, that would also be appreciated.
The plate looks as per the photo (minus the pig....... )

Thanks for the link.

I think the second from the top left is already the correct plate.
I can measure it on my spare parts bike (on my project bike this plate is also missing)

Am I correct that the RZV500 DOES NOT have any VIN plate or sticker?

Just the VIN stamped on the head tube?

Thanks, bolly! That seems to be a good link!
Looks like the nr 2 up from the bottom right is the correct template! (with FAHRGEST in the bottom left corner of the plate). They can (as you say) engrave the frame number, and with 100% positive feedback, people seem to be happy with the end product also.
Nobrainer, unless anybody have an even better suggestion...!??

Sorry, did not look close enough

Even more funny is that one of my bike has this plate (Austrian spec bike with higher number) and the other one not (Europe spec bike with lower number)

New VIN-plate arrived from the guy behind the ebay site mentioned by bolly earlier in the post.
Looks really nice! Correct dimensions, holes correctly spaced. Small fasteners are not correct type, but hopefully works (or I´ll find some rivets that are more correct...)
Only thing I´d change is ask the seller to space numbers in the engraved frame number a bit more. Originally they pretty much fill the whole black frame (see earlier picture). Price was 20 Euros for the plaque and 15 Euros for engraving, total 35 Euros posted to Norway.

Just on a side note For guys bringing in an RZV to California, You need this decal, Get one made and stick it on the frame, You can either leave it or remove it after you clear the bike with the CHP, This is the first thing they look for after the VIN and engine number.
You also need an engine number...

good luck in registering an RZV in California. The tag has to read "This vehicle meets the DOT regulations" as well it has to have a 17 VIN number. Now we get into the engine. The RZV engine is a 51X only the model number. All RZV engines are the same. Everyone that lives in California. Go to the DMV site and do your homework
