Carburettor help?

Hi,

I am in the final stages of my restoration and struggling with the carbs. I've purchased new fuel hoses where possible from Fowlers, but need some help on how everything connects up and most importantly, do I have the right hose going to the fuel tank?

See pictures below. Can anyone confirm the hose connection is set up right? Are the two long black thin hoses coiled up, just over flow pipes?

Is the formed shaped long hose ( part #47X-24311-00) the right hose connected to the other end of the "T" and does that go direct to the main fuel line to the tank?

Last question - the two yellow discoloured hoses clipped together with cable ties at the back of the cabs, are they just breather pipes? I've punched part number #90445-090G9. This is grey hose. Does it replace these two breather hoses?

Thanks for the help in advance

Hi,

there are a lot of hoses between fuel tank and carbs :D

Starting from the tank outlet we have 2 spigots.

They are connected to the fuel tap with 2 S-formed hoses
47X-24311-00 with white paint dots at the ends, connected to "ON" spigot at the fuel tap and the right spigot (diving direction) of the fuel tank
47X-24312-00 connected to "RES" on the fuel tap and the left spigot on the fuel tank

After the fuel tap you have a straight hose 90445-133A5, slightly bigger diameter, going to a T-piece (2 small, one bigger end).
The bigger end is the one which is connected with the hose coming from the fuel tap.
Both other ends of the T are connected with the upper carbs of each side (T-piece on cab)
90445-12329 (long straight hose, right carb)
90445-136A0 (short straight hose, left carb)

P/N 90445-136A0 (2x) is also used to connect upper and lower carb on each side.

The hoses on the carb bowls are only overflow hoses, route them with cable tie along the frame until the ends of this hoses are behind the belly pan.
This will avoid that fuel drops will melt the plastic of the rare and expensive fairing part.

Also don`t forget the carb ventilation hoses.
There is one spigot on each carb which is pointing up.
There you need a short hose which is routed in an 180° bend that the end is pointing down which avoids that water will go into the carbs.

And then there is one last hose - vacuum hose.
Tis hose is connected to the upper left carb (the spigot which is only available on this carb) and the fuel tap (small spigot)

Thats it... Have fun to find out how this hoses are routed in the bike

If anyone has any photos they can share, that would be very helpful as well. The exploded view in the manual isn't that clear.

Cheers.
