New dash and oil leak resolved

#1 Post by pstamper » Wed Feb 08, 2017 10:48 pm

Moved the electronics behind battery holder after grounding down stops for better turning radius. Levers were hitting dash. Also installed LED light for neutral due to heat that the original bulb put out. Way too bright though. Shock and forks serviced so next is set up suspension. Oil leak also repaired and bike is ready for a shake down before COTA in March. Most likely private session with my friend Kris at MSR which is a local Houston track.

Nice - BTW, how are these private sessions set up and paid? Is he a club member? Are you using a friends guest privileges? Are you part-renting the track for the morning?

Up through 2010 I was using a friends guest privileges for all my many car private track sessions, but he has moved out of Houston.

I am hoping to get the RS250 out for some test and tuning before committing to an entire pricey track weekend at COTA.

Kris Lillegard is who instruct there. He is not cheap but you get plenty of track time. Split it with the cars. They ran it backwards the last time I went. He charges $300 to 350 depending on how many people show up. He use to race aprillia RD 250 when he was in Italy.

I would rather pay $350 for private track time with a 2 stroke friendly guide than $200 for a crowded track day - especially with the dirty looks I got last time out for making so much smoke LOL.

Nice that he has 2 stroke 250 track time.

Mind sharing the contact info?

Just waiting on delivery of EGT's and extra sets of shorty plugs.
