CAD &Scale Drawings Sharing - Swingarm - PDF link added!

Well, not sot sure where to put these, but here is the first public domain work in progress scale drawing I am sharing with the community. I figured there must be some community value to drawing up these parts, so here goes nothing :)

Hopefully others will also contribute bits and pieces and that in the end these drawings prove helpful.

This is about as accurate as I can get it. I have double checked and verified dimensions according to the full scale drawing. As I find other stock pieces of the swing arm I will add them (such as the rubber chain guide, I know I have one some where) and if I see any glaring errors I will endevour to correct them.

There is a full sized PDF line drawing attached to the post.

*edit* Crap, the forum wont accept PDF's :(

Beautiful work! I'd love to see the linkage parts, along with appropriate bearings, bushings, etc. Thanks!!

This is the business end of the swing arm - do these numbers look good and work for anyone else?

Thank you very much RC45!! :smt006

Not sure if this will work for me, but there is definitely some real world community value.

For someone like me, it could be the beginning of a custom-designed part. I guess it depends if your CAD drawing can be modified (by you, me, or another person). I think it's very generous of you to offer the OEM swingarm CAD to the community, and I for one, would be happy to pay you to modify your CAD drawing to my specs.

Are the RZV500 swingarm measurements the same as the RZ500 swingarm?

They should be smoker. They are the same part #.

I have some sizes in my notes from my RZV frame....it suggests the inside size where the swinger pivots is 242.7mm....thats no clearance for oil seals or the like.
I have the rzv swingarm on a shelf..will check overall width and advise

According to the parts lists the only differences are the 51X pivot bolt and its washer and nut to fit the RZV frame due to the narrower outer dimensions. The frame inner dimensions are the same as the RZ and the swingarms are identical. Both use the same bush, bearings, washers, and thrust covers.

I will upload the PDF in a little while - it can be printer 1:1 on a plotter if need be. I suggest you also test and verify all the numbers before committing welder to metal though :)

I believe that value includes the dust caps which I have not yet modeled as the only set I have are on the one bike I have that is still together LOL

I dare not take it apart or I will never put it back together :)

I hope RGVSteve chimes in, he has some of these specs memorized.

I have found an old rubber chain guide in a box, quickly threw a model together. It is pretty accurate - but I had to guestimate some of the dimensions as it is pretty worn out.

I will 3D print a sample to test fit the unit then throw that drawing out into the community as well.

PDF download link added to 1st post.

It is a full size drawing sheet. Have a look and see if the dimensions are correct - hopefully my digital calipers are correctly calibrated :)

All feedback appreciated.

I think I already see some discrepancies - lower linkage a-arms hole location appears a little off.

Not yet. Have been meaning to get round to it though, along with the upper case. I have a cylinder on the desk that keeps staring at me when ever I get on the computer.
