kpke; did your cables not melt at the position shown in your pics above? They look to be a similar distance from the pipes as mine would be? If you look at my 3rd image, you can see the cables will be between the pipes. Even in the standard position, dont the cables run towards the engine, passing between the two pipes?
I'll move mine down by half an inch or so to be on the safe side, but the cables will have to go back up between the pipes anyway to get over the top of the engine.

After nearly 2000 miles there has been no degradation of the cable jackets.

That looks a lot better there now. Looks like where mine is, Mine does barely touch the swingarm if the suspension gets fully pressed down.
