COTA track day July 2016

#1 Post by pstamper » Mon Jul 11, 2016 2:21 pm

First short video. Will get other video up later and pictures should come in today. Engine was flawless even with 101 degree temperature. Kudos Rick Lance as usual. Still having issues with DucaBike slave cylinder. Four sessions and clutch would not disengage. Minor carburetor issue on hardest braking corners #1, #11, and #12. Option was go to first gear which I was not going to do or wait for engine to clear out. I chose the lesser of the two evils. We do not know if it is a gravity issue in corner or sloshing in the float bowls under hard braking. Was great fun anyway and Sunday was way better with more clouds. Also kept hitting shifter lever in the same corners. Hate to move pegs so will have to get off the bike to get the bike more upright.

That was what a friend of mine was also saying. Be nice to get better drive. Sunday I was getting under 3 minute laps consistently.

Made me feel better on the bike that passed me at the end of the straight was a new R1 Yamaha. I was also much less surprised by the close passes and keeping my line.

While tank was off for routing clutch hose different and bleeding I checked rear plugs after track day. It was 101 that day and these were from straight back in. I can see the rear left is running rich. The over flow bottles on the left side also had a lot of fuel in them. For the little hesitation and reliability it is staying like it is. Riding a much shorter track next week so should be better without the hard braking areas.
