R6 chain guard on top, RZ500 on the bottom.

Image

Not sure if the RZ500 chain guard can be fitted to the tubular arm. May want a custom guard.

Thinking about having a tool made for the custom arm.

Aluminum collar about 1.5 inch wide and .125 thick to slip over the rear axle. Weld a tab on the side with 2 holes. Bolt on a length of aluminum bar that replicates the circumfrence of the tire.

Would help with placement of the upper brace, and the crossbar between the 2 lower arms.

Might even be able to place a piece on the end of the bar that simulates the curve of the tread.

Interesting ideas from the R6 arm. Just throwing them out.

The lower crossbar is curved with the same radius as the upper brace. The lower crossbar is the same distance from the tire as the upper brace. The upper brace sticks out about 3 inches further than the lower crossbar, due to the circumfrence and location of the tire.

Image

The 2 supports that go from the lower crossbar to the upper brace could also be curved like the R6 arm, conforming to the curvature of the tire.

The special tool should make this easier to fabricate.

Swingarm parts finally arrived.

Took a while, but still amazing to get new parts for a 32-year-old bike.

One off titanium kickstand bolt.

Looks like the one I made for the RZ350, but the shaft and thread lengths are slightly different.

OEM vs. Ti:

Hate to bring you guys more bad news, but that's life.

For most people in my situation, the cancer comes back in around 5 years. For me, not much over 5 months. I have to start taking drugs next week that are going to fuck me up. Pretty sure chemo or radiation are about 2 months away. Can't say what's going to happen with me or the bikes. Should have prepared better, but was trying to get the bikes finished. That's what I love to do. Time could be very short now, and no way can I get everything done.

I sure would like to see finished bikes, and I have plenty of motivation to live. Problem is, I'm not riding this bike called cancer, I'm just the passenger.

I'm not dead, yet. I'll keep trying to finish my bikes until the end. It may be possible for me to find someone else to finish my projects, so you guys will be able to see them completed.

I love you guys. :smt006
