Yeah. Some kind of liner product. Looks thin and didn't cover well. Obviously didn't work.

Dealing with some other shit since the end of October. Gave up on the one-off swingarm, in order to save time. So I got some parts to fix up the modified R6 swingarm.

Carbon parts finally arrived. Got a rear hugger, 2 small swingarm covers, chain guard, and a front fender. Not one fucking part fits. Not even close. Now, I have to pay for return shipping, lost a lot of time, and have no new parts.

Hard to show how bad the parts are. Don't buy from MDI Carbon Fiber.

Send Paul (tacky1) a PM for a quality CF supplier of the R6 parts. I still need to order chain guard and front fender. I bought the hugger from Paul and it's a fantastic part. Much better fit and finish than the CF parts on my R1.

Will do, and thanks.

Part of the problem is that most suppliers of carbon R6 parts don't have anything, or very few parts for the 2006-2007 model. Much harder to find than other years. And I'd like to purchase the carbon parts from the same manufacturer. Hoping for the best.

Gotta box up all this stuff today and get it to the post office. :smt012

Got the NLA front fuel tank bracket from Canada. Thanks! :smt006

Very nice. No rust. Good deal.

Rubber dampers ordered. Will powder coat or plate the steel brackets.

Mounted the RZV kickstand bracket, and it's butt ugly on this nice frame.

Don't feel like I have time to redesign the bracket, so I'll just clean it up a little on the new one.

The 1GE bikes came with a sidestand switch that mounts to the stand bracket.
Maybe something to consider adding to your new bracket. Ugly yes, but a good idea.
Not sure if you have a wire harness yet and for which model?

That's a good point, because the engine and electricals I have for the RZV roller are from a Canadian RZ500 (with the kickstand switch).

I would like to eliminate that kickstand switch.

Is it as simple as soldering the two wires together and hiding them? :smt017

That's right Pete. Just jump the pins on the bike harness and you're good.

Thanks.

Just prefer a cleaner look without the extra parts.

Should also mention the kickstand bracket has a compound angle. The pressed portion angles away from the frame from top to bottom and from front to rear. For me, this makes measuring and drawing a lot more challenging. I could make the bracket flat (RGVSteve method), but I'll try the angles, first.

Looks like a fairly easy part to measure and draw. But, it's not. The part is deformed and evil.

Big azz piece of titanium arrived.

If the idea is to build a custom bike why not redesign the part? Do it in another medium first, such as clay or wood to see if the concept is viable.

For that matter, why use an RZ/RZV stand? There are better options. It is a street fighter. The last 350 I built used a Ducati 1098 stand.

I agree.

I'm making changes to the bracket, but I don't have pipes or foot controls on the roller. Trying to make the new part work with other OEM parts, so someone else could use it.

Hoping to make a custom kickstand.

Got my money back for those shit carbon fiber parts. Got shafted for the return postage, but it wasn't that much. The refund on the parts was over $400 usd, so glad about that.

Ordered a titanium rod a while back to make the new tank mount clevis pin. Was supposed to be delivered by Feb. 10. Seller never sent the rod, and doesn't answer email. What the fuck??? Had to file a claim. Got my money back today and ordered another rod from a different supplier.

Asked the local machine shop for 2 custom (motor mount) bolts about a month ago. Still not done.

Now working on drawings for the titanium kickstand bracket and have to make a one-off tool for trimming the cut fuel tank. Also looking into better quality carbon parts.

Copied OEM steel parts out of aluminum for the fuel tank brackets.
