Pete, what should I say - I am so impressed about the way you talk about your illness and dont let it stop your beautiful bike project. I have a friend who was diagnosed with terminal cancer more than 10 years ago and today he is better than ever.

I wish You all the best, keep pictures of your work coming.

Wolfgang

The worst news. The worst. :smt011
Anything I can help with just ask.
I really want to see you get recognition for your efforts and dedication to the bikes. Bike of the Year over at 2Stroke World or even better a story in one of the magazines or both!
Thanks, much.

I'd still like to try fixing the broken tank cover. I can send you cash if you can ship it to California 91208.

I'll work as much as I can on this, and my other bikes, with the time I have left. As you can imagine- I have a bunch of other stuff to do, besides the bikes.

Rode a couple of miles last night.
Hope I'm not making things worse- but I know you guys understand.

Hi Pete. All the best to you with your current condition. I am torn if I should post this as it's just words, but If it's any comfort, my dad was diagnosed with an inoperable Pancreatic tumour and was only given a month at best. They damn near killed him with a chemo overdose and as a result he lived another year, 9 months of which he had a good quality of life. My cousin at 49, was diagnosed and dead on the O R table within 3 days of being diagnosed with bowel cancer. Glad you made it through the operation and hoping you have a decent quality of life in the near further. I am forever thankful my dad had the added time with us and time to put his affairs in order as I'm sure your family and friends are. As Wolfgang alluded about his friend, I also had an uncle who lived 25 years after a terminal diagnosis. Don't give up hope, no one has a crystal ball. Keeping those incredible creative juices of your's flowing and riding if you can are as good a medicine as any. I look forward to your continued posts, Dan

Thanks, much Dan.

Your post clearly illustrates the unknown nature of a cancer diagnosis. There's some component of luck, but it's not really luck, we just don't understand the complexity of cancer, yet. I don't think attitude, hope, or prayers can cure cancer.

I do believe that a good attitude can help very much on a daily basis, though. It's a grind to do everything while in bad pain. I'm lucky that I have the love of bikes to get me out of bed and keep my mind occupied with good thoughts.

If it's not clear from my latest posts, I've gone back to the idea of using the RZ500 engine. Just because I'm trying to get things done faster.

Pretty sure the rear engine mounting bolt is M8 x 165mm.

ProBolt, where I got the rear suspension bolts, doesn't have this size or even the bolt that attaches the rear shock connecting rods to the lower transmission cover (around M8 x 100mm).

I guess if I want the bolts to match, they'll need to be custom machined. Working on this now. Haven't looked at the front engine mounting bolt(s), yet.

Have not been paying attention to your recent posts. So sorry to hear about diagnoses. As I am getting older and this is the thing I always worry about when getting tests. Have my colonoscopy start of year. I am so happy you are still able to work on the bike to keep occupied. My OCD keeps me from completing many things but I learning to get around it. Hope you have friends and family near to help you and with the project. My prayers and best wishes are with you that whatever the future holds and you can enjoy and do it on your own terms.

Going back thru posts. What wheels are those?

I think it might be worth it to find one that's not broken. Less to fix means less time, and not sure how much time I have.
Thank you so much for the kind offer!

Where the wheel an easy fit? Did you order with ceramic bearings? And does it take ZX6 rear sprocket as others do? I missed out on the carrozzeria wheels last year when I decided to do the Valvoline scheme

Easy fit. I'm using R6 forks & swingarm.

Yes on the ceramic bearings.

Rear sprockets are listed specifically for BST wheels.
