Looks a little longer in wheelbase but it looks great.
Thats the problem with a lot of modern swingarms, your adding another 40-50mm to the wheel base.

Absolutely, the original swingarm length, pivot axis to wheel axis, is about 500 to 530mm, min to max wheel adjustment.
The R6 is 565 to 585mm.
I don't know if the rearset brackets will fit, I actually didn't think they might not..!

They fit ! With no issue, there is way enough clearance.Kalim wrote:I don't know if the rearset brackets will fit, I actually didn't think they might not..!
The YPVS motor will also fit in its original position, or almost.
As it is, there will be an interference of the motor with the swingarm, when it travels.
However, if I slightly bend the motor bracket, the bottom of the motor will be located right in the oval clearance of the swingarm, which is originally for the shock absorber place.
I started to work on the front wheel.
Had to drill all the brake rotors screws, they were all completely seized .

Hi folks,
The "bowl shape cover" for the ignition rotor is damaged on my engine.
I was initially thinking about repairing it, but found some on eBay at a decent price, 20€.
Do you know if there is a difference between the 47X and the 1GE ?
I believe it is called cover generator, item 1 on the C9 page of microfiches.
Thanks.
David.

Re: Back in business - 7 years later
The 1GE parts manual tells me part number 47X-15415-01
In case of a 1GE special part it would have the part number 1GE-....
=> should be the same part.

Hi Kalim,
Just catching up on some posts as I've been away for a while.
It's nice to see another R6 braced swingarm being fitted, I fitted this arm some years ago and am very happy with the way it looks and works on the bike.

I'm not a complete idiot...some parts are missing.

Hi Matty,
I had not seen your bike thread, I thought I was the first with this R6 arm, obviously not !
Thanks for the positive feedback on this fitting, and now I can see what it looks like on a bike.
David.

Hello gents,
Slowly but surely, I'm still working step by step on my upgraded restoration.
I could accelerated a bit during the past months, and I've just passed an important milestone: the start of the reassembly.
Made some clean space in the garage to work properly on the bike. A big carpet just for her.
Big progress: I've had the frame and the rims painted, ready to receive the rest of puzzle .

Frame and wheels are looking good. A nice clean canvas to begin your build. Good luck.

Re: Back in business - 7 years later
I had a sad misadventure when removing the clutch from the engine.
I more than probably constrained too much one of the screws that retain the clutch springs, when trying to untighten them, and...
Was really disappointed, especially when I found out that this clutch center plate is rare and expensive !
Fortunately, my father has some machining skills . We decided to shave the remaining small bit of material, and to machine the snatched part.
Added a homemade shim to get the right length.
And countersink the back of the plate, and tighten the long piece from the back.
Rescue is successful !
