Thanks.
Thanks.

I almost have all of them.jackson.40 wrote: I can't see your front fuel tank bracket, battery box bracket, two stroke oil pump bleed hose bracket, rear indicator bracket,
rear mudguard reinforcement bracket or rear brake hose guide bracket. These parts but may not be needed as the bike is not standard.
Can't figure out which is the two stroke oil pump bleed hose bracket ?
And then I started to work on the carbs.
A friend offered to try to weld to broken part on the carb body. I'll give him a try. So I strip it down.
I think I quite understand how this strange beast work.
I couldn't remove the very small air jet that we see in the bottom of the entry side.
Couldn't untightened neither the small screw that holds the cylinder in which the needle valve slides.
I left everything immersed in white vinegar for some hours, for a first draft of cleaning.
Works quite good.

Also missed your front brake hose clamp brackets are missing but you may not need them.

Thanks.
It must be somewhere... but where..?
Today I started the sanding of the fuel tank.
The sanding machine is a little tight for this tank, but it will work with patience.
I did the complete bottom
Most important for me is to have very clean edges
Did you know the front and rear fuel tank bracket supports were brazed, not welded ?

Nice work, keep the photo's coming
The bleed clamp will held on by one of your engine clutch cover bolt near the kick start.

Re: Back in business - 7 years later
I think I remember having this part, it will show up one day, probably just the day after I receive a new one by post mail.
About the fuel tank bracket, the colour of material is close to brazing, but the look and all the projections are not in line with the brazing process.
Maybe due to the thin skin they do welding with a specific additional material ?
Any welding expert here ?

I remember !
I'm pretty sure it is in the top oval grey box "clutch housing".

Re: Back in business - 7 years later
I don't need to send this one for plating, as it's probably brand new under the layers of grease .
Re: Back in business - 7 years later
Little more progress today.
I think I'll be done by Friday. Then a quick layer of primer to prevent it from rusting.

Here it is !
Re: Back in business - 7 years later
Dunno where I saw that (maybe the guys from Monkey Garage), but they had a car where large areas of the coating just came off in one single piece.
They said it was due to (soda?) blasting the old color off. They said it would be a typical issue with lazy slackers that wanted to save the tiresome sanding job.
Can't tell if it's true, but maybe you can google if there's real issues.

Little more sandblasting last week.
But most important I received 2 heavy parcels back from UK.
I had my cranks rebuild by PJME.
There has been some more work than expected, Paul told me that the cranks have had hard times. I can believe him, the previous owner is a very good friend of me.
Now here they are, brand new !
All four cylinders rebored to +1.00, and four brand new pistons of course.
Couldn't wait to make a first blank assembly in the crank cases, it rotates great.
Need to find shiny new bolts, and I'll definitely tighten them back in the crank cases.
