Ron,
Looking real nice my friend! Love the polished heads and attention to detail. Looks like the cable kit and accessories worked out well for you.
Would like to see where you settle in for jetting so I could recommend to folks in the future.
Keep the pictures and comments coming!
Regards,
Bill Wilson

Re: RZ500 Street Fighter
Hi all, Jetting on the dyno was 40 pilot, napf needle, 138 main was running lean qauter to half
throttle so went next richer needle napg. Had 20 percent lighter throttle springs made. Haven't
had a chance to run it yet. Throttle is a lot lighter.
RGV forks had them lentghend 25 mm get the front up a bit more
nitron rear shock stanard petty no ride height adjuster
Back end so far
Hope you enjoy the progress.
Cheers Ron

Are you keeping standard sprocket ratios?

Re: RZ500 Street Fighter
I thought streetfighters are naked bikes - but from the look of the headlight, gauges, and radiator fill cap locations - the bike is going to be covered with plastic.
What gives???

Re: RZ500 Street Fighter
Hi Andrew that's what i'm hoping for, running 16 44 not quite sure haven't had it on the road yet.
Front is an offset so i'm governed by clearance. The bike is so close but those little things very
annoying some times. Thanks Andrew
Hi smoker the bike will be naked just a little bit more time
Cheers Ron

Hooray!
So happy to see a naked RZ500. Very rare and cool.

Re: RZ500 Street Fighter
Very nice. Your dyno guy looked like he knew what he was doing. The bike sounds sweet.
Re: RZ500 Street Fighter
You've got some nice mods going!
Just out of curiosity- how did you lengthen the RGV forks? Longer spacers? Does your fork mod change the preload or travel?
And who makes custom carb/throttle springs?
I can't tell from the pics - did you modify the OEM upper triple, or design a new one?
Sorry for the questions, but the stuff you're doing is interesting.

Re: RZ500 Street Fighter
Hi Smoker the forks have a top out spacer tyat was cut down to suit the inner tube around 25 mm,
different springs and cbr 600 valves made to fit. The carby springs were made by a local spring company.
The top tripple is stanard RGV bolted handle bar risers to it. Had a Ballistic lithium battery in the bike, found out when they go below 6 volts no good, waitng for another one to show up. Then get a seat made up
and hopefully go try the bike out. The guy on the dyno is Neville Lush Australian sidecar champ loves his
two strokes specially trpples.
Thanks Ron

Love 'em myself... can't wait to see Ron's Street Fighter when it's finished.
Here's mine.... more Cafe Racer, come Street Fighter, but you get the idea
I'd love to do a few more bits on it, like a nice bigger capacity radiator, some nice levers and mirrors, ... it just never stops!
Ron... just a few Street Fighter ideas tfor you to think about..... When I decided to go this way, I found the standard sprocket ratios were not for a street fighter type of bike, they're more suited to top-end, full fairing types.
I went down on the front sprocket, and up on the rear. More like short-circuit ratios. I'm not into holding my bike flat out wide open screaming in top gear looking for somewhere to seize I like acceleration and popping third gear wheelies
Anyway, without a fairing, you won't want top end sprockets.... A 520 chain conversion, and R1 front sprockets give an excellent range, but rears you might need made up (but they're not too expensive)
At one point I also had a nice set of high raise Rental MX bars fitted, but then it really did want to live on one wheel If you go for this type of high handle bar, you'll have to get longer cables and brake lines made up (the clutch cable was a bitch to find, so I landed up making my own)
Keep the photos' comming Ron.
Love Street Fighters!!!
