Re: Alloy Frame, Project 51X
I have removed this part off the bike to get plated and age must be creeping up as I can not remember where it goes back. Can anyone help me out here?

It keeps the oil level sender secure in the two stroke oil tank.
It would have been plated green from new.

So the full Carbie Kits arrived from Yambits. Now I have stripped cleaned and de-restricted these ready for assembly back onto the engine.
Re: Alloy Frame, Project 51X
What main jets did you use? Not 165 i hope! Start higher and work down.

Re: Alloy Frame, Project 51X
I have made two K&N filters that I purchased off Ebay for $50each fit on. As this is my first attempt, can any of you seasoned members see a problem with these working?
Re: Alloy Frame, Project 51X
That looks like it will work but now you have to change the main jets.
I am going to say 250 then work down. Dont sell your elephant ears and airbox. You are going to want them again later.

Re: Alloy Frame, Project 51X
Now i want to tell you about a tool that i learned about here on the forum and it works great and i highly suggest you pick one up.
Read this:
http://www.rzrd500.com/500phpBB3/viewto ... =carb+sync" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It is inexpensive, very accurate, and easy to use.
Saves alot of time and you can see the results when you adjust the carb balancing.
These are on ebay and other spots on the web. The model you want is called the SK 1-30 kg/h
There are other sizes so be careful to buy the right one.
What you use this for is balancing the carbs- left side to right side and front to back. You adjust all throttle openings until they all read the same number on the dial. Only hitch is that you have to block the 2 equalising tubes that connect the carb rubbers together while you balance. When you are done, remove the blocks.
Setting the carbs up right on these bikes is the key to happyness.
