Nice job 3D printing the wheels

I wish LOL.silverstrom wrote:

How durable is the print material? Are there varieties of materials?
Imagine being able to 3D print gas tanks. Add a POR-15 liner and you're done.
Johnny I agree. It would be ideal for printing a mold plug. But I would rather CAD model the tank then make buck strings from wood and then make a custom aluminium tank using the stringers and profile guides. That way you address the strength issue.peddrotzr wrote:silverstrom wrote:Would you mind sharing the printer cost and material cost?

I think it's a very good idea of a way of coping a tank either yzr or something else.
However, I would only use it for making a plug, so you could then make molds from it, to make a stronger tank.
As I don't think a 3d print fuel tank with por15 would be strong enough but I might be wrong, hence why Fiberglass tanks were banned in the GP's in the 1980's
I might be wrong as it depends on the strength ect of the material.
The idea is interesting & has a possibility.

Front probably as Ducati (all the Italians) use the Yamaha 6 bolt 80mm 64mm hub ID layout. rear brakes dpend on year and caliper as well and rotor size.Ronnie wrote:The wheels I have were from Jean Michelle Bayle's Red Bull YZR500.
I have other photos but I'll take more measurements.
Mick Costin seemed to think the brake discs of the Aprilia RSV were a direct fit.
