Bought my 500 3 years ago an ebay purchace £2500 buy it now had to have it, caught the train to manchester and rode it home!
After riding it a few times deciderd to strip it down and do a full nut and bolt rebuild, so after many months and lots and lots of money ended up with this.

Right then here is the story.
Went to the i.o.m tt races last year on my 500 enjoyed every minite of it but got my head turned on the ferry by of all things a brand new r6 it just looked stunning got me thinking if i can get a modern bike looks with this stunning 2 stroke engine then i can have the best of both worlds so... when winter came stripped the bike down again got r6 wheels swingarm had them converted at nk racing then the madness realy started saw a r1 bodykit already spayed up in 50th anniversary so the r5 started to take shape!

This is only a very crude mock up of things to come had the frame, wheels, swingarm powder coated saturn black the tank will be white and red/black to match the fairing, pipes black. now i have found out how to upload photos i will show you progress!

U sure arent scared of hard work are you!

If youdont mind the comment, The top fairing seems far foward making it look like its not from this bike, not sure if thats just the picture but thought I would offer that up.

Cheers

The fairing has been a concern from day one it was only held on in the photo with zip ties, hopeing when the tank is done the lines will be better blend in more, I'm having the tank sprayed to match the fairing i.e more white with the red speed block running up the bottom should be done this week (the spray job that is) Also on the photo the front muddy is off an r1 which d'nt fit so an r6 one is being done!
Thanks for the comments guys this build is not for the faint hearted.
cheers jack.

Looks superb Jack. Love the colours. I put an R6 kit on mine (RD500 frame) and the original R6 fairing stay was reasonably easy to adapt to the standard RD frame and a great starting point.

http://www.rzrd500.com/500phpBB3/viewto ... 59&start=0

Possibly using the R1 stay might be a good place to start.

Hi adr1an Your built has a lot to do with my special, read your build time and time again loveing everything you have done great bike!
Have put the r1 fairing stay on, bit of work but is solid enough!
If my bike is half as good as your 500 i will be very happy.
cheers jack.

Thanks Jack,
Looking forward to seeing your build develop.
I used to live round your way in Glossop. Some fabulous roads there in the Peaks.
