Brilliant mate!!!! Thanks a lot. This is a perfect angle to compare
It is the '82 OW60 - he crashed it at the actual race. Was that from the '82 race or a later race with the bike om display?

Keeping an open mind with regard to colour schemes, so anyone have any other pictures of Spencers Yamaha TZ days?
This is what I have found so far.

The one Roberts crashed in the first corner and Barry crashed in practice, was actually the OW61, I think the pic is the OW60 which they did not race, at Silverstone, that year.RC45 wrote:Brilliant mate!!!! Thanks a lot. This is a perfect angle to compare

Tried the Zeel tach adapter with FZR1000 tach and FZR600 tach - no go. Good thing these tachs are so cheap on eBay - I am def. keeping the FZR600 unit. OEM old stock, brand new - cheap as chips and looks good.
Signal is smoothed but not halved.
So I gotsta ask - what 4 stroke 4 cylinder tach does the Zeel REVD2N properly handle??

To be fair he did say in his reply to my email they had never tested the ZX7 tach - might have thought they would have tried some Yamaha tachs.aaronmvrider wrote:contact borut... ????
I have ordered the adjustable tach adapter fromt he Texas based company.
Maybe they can deal with the FZR tach.

Old School Race Dash finished
The Scitsu temp gauge doesn't fit in the stock location, so its on the left now. That shrouds the left CDI mounting points in the dash so will now have to make yet another plan for getting CDI and YPVS controller mounted.
Hope I don't have to toss the Scitsu temp gauge in the end.
The TZ250 3YL Dash installed.
Making and fitting the pattern
Problems - the Scitsu Temp Gauge interferes with the TZ250 YPVS motor mounting - so temp gauge goes to the other side
Dash ready for all the electronics to be moved to the front

Funny you should ask - as much as I like the retro look, I wanted to at least get timely accurate temperature info.Dubsey wrote:The scitsu temp gauge, is it a capillary type ?
if so how quick does the needle react to temp changes ?
Made a cuppa tea and poured an extra mug of hot water.
My analog cooking thermometer took about 20 seconds to read 132ish* F - the laser temp probe showed 57*C (135* F).
The Scitsu took aboout 55s to settle at 52*C.
Slow and under reading - seems to be taking the retro concept a little far

cuppa tea....thought all you guys across the pond drink coffee ?
The second steel frame I bought has arrived - to be used as a jig.
Decided to do a back-to-back weigh-in.
Bare steel frame 33lb
Bare alloy frame 24lb
The bike currently has a steel frame with by my estimate about 3lbs of extra gusseting.
And so the weight slowly comes off - I am sure at least 12lbs between the current frame and the alloy one - but I will go with 10lbs for calculations.
My goal is 350lbs fully fueled up ready to go - it is currently 377lbs fueled up, so 350lbs seems to be within reach.
