I found this in a box of parts. There are 2 inserts in the frame for the 2 front holes.

What do the 2 rear holes mount to?

On a 47x spec bike there are two rubber buffers fitted. As you have a 1ge spec you have no rubber buffers but will have foam strips under the fuel tank to hold the protector down.

How did it get so close? You have an R6 swing arm , correct? I do not use a lower bracket on my left pipe and it has never moved or leaked.

Thanks for that Steve. I think my other tank has the foam strips on it. That's what they are for :-o

Yes, R6 swingarm. It got so close by simulating a longer shock which jacked the swingarm down and raised the rear end about 1 5/8 inches.

Are you running GP pipes? And you are not using a bracket in that location to support the pipe?

If anyone has any information on availability of this ride height adjuster I would be very interested.

Mine is just as close. I never installed a mount but as I said it is pretty secure. I would just invest in a better shock. I have a Wilbers on one bike and purchased the other from Rick Lance. Both have ride height adjustment. Need to see what steering angle is on each.

The Wilbers shock arrived via UPS today. :smt007

It arrived very nicely packaged.

It looks absolutely beautiful (to me). :smt016

It was built to my specifications. It is longer than the stock shock.

My only whine :smt010 , which really has nothing to do with the shock absorber, is that upon installation it made contact with the shock arm. This in keeping with the theme that absolutely nothing will bolt onto this motorcycle out-of-the-box.

Image

Just barely though. But I couldn’t leave it. So the powder coated shock arms came off and I went off to the disc grinder, then finished it off with a couple of files. A little touch up paint and use of a heat gun for instant curing of the paint, and it was off to the races.

Hopefully this will get me motivated to move along on this bike again.

Looks really nice.

I also want to buy a Wilbers as replacement for my original one (only thing that is accepted as "not original part" on my bike)

Do i understand it right - it touches the mounting arm because the bike is heavily modified?
On the original bike it works without modifications of original parts?

By the way, the bike looks really great :smt007
Mayyyybeee... if i finish my original bike... i have a second frame and good cylinder block... :smt005
But i think it is nearly impossible to get such a bike street legal in Austria :smt010

Thanks for the kind words. :smt001

I can't answer your questions. A friend in town has a stock bike and bought the same shock I did. When he gets to installing it, I will know if he has the same issue with the shock arm and report back. :smt002

Yes, a great feeling indeed.

This movie may be a bit boring to you gents but exciting times for me.

You may find the oil pump part of it interesting if nothing else.
