500 Two-Stroke Tech

Hi Guys, can any one advise me on the capacity of the single 2T Oil Tank fitted to my bike? I appreciate that RD models had an additional(aux) tank, and have read somewhere that the Japanese designers wanted to keep the weight down as much as possible for the Japanese home market, hence the RZV500R only has the main oil tank. I have tried looking for the oil tank capacity on line and drawn a blank so far.

The RZV is not 2.0 Litres. Upper and lower tanks combined are 2.0 Litres. For RZV capacity you need to subtract the lower tank. You should get around 1.5 litres for the RZV.

The links to the RZV manual are actually links to the 47X manual. The site says it's the RZV manual, but it isn't. The whole manual is 47X, even though it says RZV.

Oil Tanks
Main Tank 1.7ltr
Sub Tank 0.3ltr
So 2ltr in total

Just installed the 'sub' tank with a clear breather hose so you can see the level in the main tank should the switch fail.
