The reality is if the bodywork is anything close to patterned after real YZR bodywork then it doesn't matter what frame is used, there will need to be extensive work/reshaping/sectioning etc. done to mount it.
The project outcome will reflect the skill/time/money spent doing all the custom work needed.

Well now that I have a 'fairly' finalized rolling chassis it's time to figure out a plan to mount my front fairing.
Years ago I bought a fibreglass replica of a 1991 Harris fairing from the UK. Overall the fairing looks pretty decent but like many posts here about fitting I see that it's far too narrow for the RZV500. The expectation that I will need to widen this piece to fit it up and crash head in into fibreglass work doesn't really frighten me but leads more into questions on how best to attempt it. First I suppose I need to saw the damn thing in half right down the center of the bottom. Before I do that though and really to know where the center line is will take a bit of head scratching and eyeballing. I think just setting it down on the floor should work fine and run a guide line down the center and pull out the saw.
Then how wide should I go? I guess using some form of clamps I could hold the two halves together and measure how much fill needs to be added. Should I rivet a couple thin aluminum braces in the bottom before fibreglass splicing it back into one piece?
As you can tell I am more loaded with questions and queries than I am being armed with a plan to execute...and I hate that. So here I am and eager to listen to who ever has done this before having suggestions on the best way to begin this process.
I have a hard stop on this project that is now driving me to work on it ferociously. Next year (May) I want to enter it into the Ill Fated Kustoms "garage built" bikes show.

Once you have cut it in half, you can use cleco clamps to hold some aluminium strips to space it apart. Some might know them as sheet metal clamps. they fit through a small hole which is easily filled later. You need special pliers to put them in the holes. There a side clamps too that might be useful.

I know this post is getting a bit old but for anyone interested King Carbon can still make the fairings they did for Paul. Plan on around 1500.00 shipped.

They’re still making them - For the U.K. they are around £500 with postage - they come in quite a big box for protection would cost more for international postage.
They keep selling so I have left the moulds with King Carbon while there is interest in them from fellow YZR enthusiasts.

better an RZV in a 3MA frame
consider that fairing is quite big due to aereodinamic cowl.

I just got my harris bodywork and am very impressed with it. They do offer a wider lower to fit the rz/rd
