Hey.
I have glass blown my aluminum front fork.
What would you recommend for surface treatment?
Epoxy 2 component paint?
Polishing and clear varnish?
Chromium plating?
Wet painting?
Other things ?

Hi,

Satin brush polish with Scotchbrite - use different grades to get the finish you need - it can easily be cleaned up if you don't like your first attempt - thoroughly clean it with solvents - warm the fork up before painting - but not hot - spray with fuel proof gloss lacquer or 2 pack - you can get 2 pack in aerosols - the non lethal kind - I'd also do the painting on a warm dry day.

I personally use Upol gloss lacquer - its not cheap but seems to do a good job - I tried a clear etching lacquer once but didn't get a nice finish.

Cheers
Paul
