Air Box Foam/Rubber Pads

#1 Post by steveho » Fri May 17, 2019 2:18 pm

Hi, From new, did the air-box ears have any stick on foam or rubber pads on the outer faces.
Currently doing a Resto, and want to get the detail as accurate as possible, and any foam/rubber pads will cover up some cosmetic marks on my air box too!
Thanks.

Yes, but i don't think the rzv500's had them.

My pre-production 47X and 1GE don't have them.

Have a look at this, might be worth contacting him as i think he made some in the end.

Thanks for this info. I might take a look into getting some closed cell self adhesive foam and experimenting with making some pads similar to the images you posted.
Cheers.

I wonder if they were hit and miss during production. I have some ears with them and others without them.

The glue isn't that good. They fall off without leaving any glue residuals on the elephant ears.
Looks like they were never there.

I'm not really happy with the condition of mine, maybe I will make some of them...
But probablx not in the closer future.
