Don't expect too much perfection.
This is what I'm able to do on 0.6mm Ti sheet material. Welding the ring of sections is feasible. All done with fusion welding, i. e. no rod used... Which I didn't have anyway (used thin stripes of sheet material instead)
1mm should even be somewhat easier.

Though I have to admit that bugs are not my strongest side. Connecting them to a flat thin sheet is difficult and will distort the surface to some degree.

At least I have 50 x 0.6 mm tubing here to do some practice before tackling the important stuff.

Even the annealing works somehow...
Unfortunately it's not like on steel - if you rub with fingers the blue color gets pretty pale.

Perhaps I can design a bung that has an approximately 1mm collar for welding.

2 or 3 would do the job. 1 would be a bit too thin (and even more difficult to attach ...)

Oh that's even easier.
Count the number of cuts (12) and divide 360 by that number (=30 degrees).
The cut angle is half of that as each side adds to the total angle. (= cut angle is 15 degrees).
As a counterprobe the total angle is the sum of all involved cut angles (12 x 2 x 15 = 360).

One problem is how to hold the tubing for cutting.

The idea I have is to sacrifice the end of the tubing, and clamp (one end of) it to a wooden angle that could slide through the ban saw. That way, the orientation of the cuts would be uniform. Need a fine-toothed blade since the tubing is only 1mm thick.

Also need to find someone or some place with the tools to do it, like a Miter Band Saw.

Probably just need a mirror polish before annealing.

I've been trying to find prefab 30 degree, 3 inch pie cuts, but they're never going to be the correct length.

Ticon sells the same tubing, so I'll ask them about cutting. They only sell parts, but maybe they can point me in the right direction.

Not going any further until the cutting is figured out. Also need to cut a large hole in one tube for the filler neck.

It was raining outside and I felt like practicing titanium welds :-)
That's the best I'm capable of after not having touched my TIG box for half a year or so.
Its 1mm Ti tubing, 1.6mm needle in a big cup setup with some 14A DC though the inside looks like a few amps more couldn't hurt ...
(Still managed to burn one hole on the invisible side)

Very nice work, Martin!

Enjoying some time working on the RZV roller. Been getting help here and there from friends, so making progress again.

This project should be my first priority, though. I'll get back on it, and thanks for everything.
