YZR bodywork options

#1 Post by Questo vecchio rz » Sat Oct 07, 2017 3:52 am

Okay, let's talk YZR body work fitted to a stock frame, and fuel tank. Likley owner wants 88-91 style YEAR , but will entertain late 90s-2000 ... Maybe. Existing bike has Wynn style FZR600 fairings..looks real good, but not representative of a replicas profile. (See below as well).

Question: Does anyone offer YZR fairings that fit, without cutting, reworking, fiberglass, etc...

AirTech has late 80s, early 90s Rainey style style YZR.. but specifically states that it does not fit & extensive rework would be required and even then he's skeptical it could be modified to fit.

Harris has a set listed...but no pics nor info listed.

Anyone here have moulds that are offering to manufacture sets for sale? As mentioned possibly even the newer YZR style.

Last question... Does the stock RZ500 fuel tank shape work with YZR style bodywork ?
If it's close..that's cool but if profile looks awful..then might just stay with what the bike has presently.

Thanks for any and all leads, ideas or opinions.

1991 YZR500....

Nice to deal with and a well made product - you should discuss modifications - I'm sure they could help you - I also ordered their seat unit

The fairing will need to be widened at the bottom, the clutch blister, generator blister, dry clutch duct need moving - the radiator ducts get in the way of the airbox so you will need to remove the airbox or modify the ducts

Cheers
