Re: New fairing parts Yamabits
They are fiberglass, not injection molded like the originals.
From the pictures the quality seems good, fitment can vary from part to part depending how stiff the molds are.
Price is quite good, it`s a lot of work to make them...
I guess they are using the cheapest possible materials like polyester resin instead of epoxy resin (common thing also for racing fairings, epoxy is a bit stiffer and lighter but expensive) and glass fiber mats instead of glass fiber fabric (fabric is again a bit stiffer and lighter but more expensive and not so easy to handle).
Not a big problem as the cheapest material will be better than the original in 1985
In my opinion they describe it right:
I`m thinking about buying one complete fiberglass set for "daily use" and spend some time later to propeprly restore the original parts (or buy good replacements from time to time if the price is ok)

You willl get a better quality than original for a far lower price. If you want to use glass fiber fairings... You have to decide by your ownComplete with bonded in mounting points it makes an economical replacement for a damaged or missing original.

Re: New fairing parts Yamabits
I have a complete set of beat up fairing parts, have to determine if I want to use them or replace the really bad ones.
Would like a seat cowl...
Looking for info on if any one has used these parts yet..
Fitment and quality?

Re: New fairing parts Yamabits
Painting fibreglass can be a little more troublesome as the trapped air in the mould can surface and react withe the solvent in the paint causing a bubble mark.
