#1 Post by alexm99 » Wed Oct 15, 2014 10:43 am

I need to do some minor spot repairs on the bodywork. Would anyone have the Yamaha paints codes for the Red and White. (UK model 1986)

Thanks

Alex

Color names are:
Silky White, Code "GE/SW"
Stormy Red, Code: "AJ/SMR"

You can get expensive but matching colors here: http://www.motorradlack.de" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
My bikes:
RD500 YPVS 1GE
RD350 YPVS 31K 1985
Honda CBR 1000 RR SC57
Yamaha R1 RN04

I'm told the best match is a Ford colour called Silver Fox, code is "Z". It was used on Escorts and Cortinas in the 60s & 70s.

Have a look at this link

BASF R-M Diamont
Code: MM024.60 is a very close match for the frame

if you have the colour on a part polish it up real good and you can take them to any decent pain shop and if they have Spectrometer it will get it bang on

i looked up the codes on the work paint pc and most of the old codes mean anything now . but it all depends on what system they use

thats you best be to get them bang on

Paint codes for the RD, EU models:
Matching paint codes with modern paint system are as follows:

Paint color system: Lesonal paint system from Atzko Nobel
Stormy red : use YAM3001
Silky White : use YAM9083

I have used these colors codes and they are matching.
The local paint shop did not find the colours in their system, but when I contacted the main distributor for Lesnoal they could mix the paint without any problems.
