Belly Pan / Jolly Moto exhaust

Belly Pan / Jolly Moto exhaust
Hi!
I can't fit the belly pan again, after mounting my Jolly Moto exhaust. Seems like the exhaust pipes are lower on the JM than on the OEM exhaust.
Anyone experienced this? Do I have to modify / cut the belly pan?

Re: Belly Pan / Jolly Moto exhaust
Did you cut out the bulges only, or what did you exactly cut?

Re: Belly Pan / Jolly Moto exhaust
Don't cut anything !! - bodywork for the RD500 is getting rare and valuable - why don't you consider getting an after market replacement painted up instead ?

You can do as I did.....
I made a mold and copeid of my original bellypan and modified it.
You can do the same and then modifie it so it fits your pipes.
As you see I made mine a little bit longer then the org....looks better that way

Re: Belly Pan / Jolly Moto exhaust
New belly pan ordered from Pferrer in Germany. This one I will modify to fit my JM exhaust.
I will NOT cut the original belly pan.....but it is heat damaged, so my question is - how can I repair it?

It's made of some ABS-plastic that's hard to work with.
That's what my fiber/plastic-guy Said.
What was the cost of the new bellypan you ordered ?
I have thought of make copies of my modified, have a mold made for that.

How was the finish off the pferrer-pan ?cidair wrote:Pferrer belly pan €89.-
The cost for "my" bellypan would be a little less plus p&p but require some small work to be fitted.

Re: Belly Pan / Jolly Moto exhaust
the belly pans are very easy to plastic weld
dont think your man wanted to have a go
the last pan i fixed on the bike i just sold . i shit you not it was 10 peices and i welded it back together . abs rod and a plastic welder and 1 1/2 hours .. done
so it can be done !

Hey nzminis... what do you call a plastic welder... is it a hot-air gun of some sort??? or a type of soldering iron???

Re: Belly Pan / Jolly Moto exhaust
hot air gun with the small tip as in pic below , tip is standing up . its 2000w . if you make a small lip for a 2000w heat gun they work aswell . you want to keep your heat area very small with plastics like abs . you dont want to get it to hot or it will start to go wrong
