I have after many years of no riding finally been able to test ride the 500 I've put together from various parts.
I used to ride a 1GE with a "Stage 2" ported engine and Jolly Motos.
This bike pulled strongly to about 12.000rpm and was a real blast to ride.
The bike I have put together uses what I'm told a "Stage 1" tune and I still have the Jollys on it. It revs fine up to 10.000rpm, then it just stops!
I always thought the Jollys was a big part in my higher revving engine.
I have a 47X CDI on this bike. Can this be the source of the refusal to rev past the red line? It almost feels like there´s a rev limiter on it..

Re: CDI: 47X vs 1GE
Yes, you're right.
The 1GE CDI has a different curve after 9000 rpm.
It falls down differently.

Do yourself a favour and don't waste time and money for the 1GE box.
Better get a zeeltronic.com PDCI or PCDI which unites a programmable ignition and Power Valve.
Especially with pipes, you'll need different PV actuation rpms and the engine will be very thankful for that - it cures the ditch in the torque curve around 7-9 k.
