The plan..
1. connect the brown, black and green/yellow wires to my right handlebar connection and the single red/white
2. wrap together the red/yellow, blue and blue/black to keep the lights on
3. run a single wire from the thermo unit up to the connector that feeds the temperature gauge.

Am I missing anything?? Thanks, Mark

Yes you can, but for the 3rd point, I think it will be easier to wrap at the old 9 pin connector level the green wire that comes from meter assembly with the green/red wire that comes from thermo unit.

Good news....I connected the two R/G wires together at the nine pin connector....now 12v goes from the thermo unit plug straight up to the dashboard connector for the temperature gauge.

I feel I got the rzv harness to work ok. Only issue now is there appears to no connector up near the head light for the flasher cancellation. I assume the rzv does have turn signals...... strange. The attached pic is from the old harness. Any ideas?? Thanks again.

So it seems RZV doesn't have automatic flasher cancellation.
It is optionnal in RDs : in Germany this feature wasn't supplied.
In RD harness, the yellow/black wire from the flasher relay ( on harness side of the 9 pin connector ) can be connected with a separate connector either to a yellow/green wire ( if cancellation unit is present ) or either to a black wire ( Germany with no cancellation unit ).
I don't know if RZ and RZV harness have this separate connector or if they are hard-wired.

You should just check it and if there is a separate male connector on yellow/black wire in the harness : plug it in the corresponding black wire female connector.

Anyway, you'll have to manually cancel the flashers.
