Battery choice

#1 Post by 2-strokefanUK » Tue Sep 06, 2016 12:33 pm

Sorry if this has been covered before....
I bought my RG500 from Germany a couple of months ago. It came with 2 of these batteries fitted ( linked together ) :

They were dead, having been inactive for at least 5 years. The bike is now ready for the road, just waiting on the DVLA . Up to now I've been using a donor battery, but it's too big for the RG battery box.
Can I use the same type of batteries ? If yes, will the RG charging system be OK with them? They fit perfectly.

You may have already made a decision but I like these batteries. They do make 12V versions of these batteries too. They're durable, inexpensive, don't leak, and they work fine with the charging system. I've used one in my RZ350 for years without any issues.
