Gear lever contacting side stand spring

Gear lever contacting side stand spring
My gear lever is contacting the side stand spring on down shifts, not so much of a problem for the steel RZ lever, just annoying but I want to fit an aluminium RZV lever and this wont cope with the repeated contact. Is there a fix for this problem?
I'm not a complete idiot...some parts are missing.
Re: Gear lever contacting side stand spring
Adjust the gear lever higher maybe?
Re: Gear lever contacting side stand spring
Unfortunately if I adjust the lever higher it will mean that I will have to lift my foot off the peg to change gear.

Re: Gear lever contacting side stand spring
You need to bend it out Matty, The shifter is bent in a little,

Maybe not if you use footpegs like this:Matty wrote:Unfortunately if I adjust the lever higher it will mean that I will have to lift my foot off the peg to change gear.
Half joking, but might give you an idea for a solution. Just ordered a pair of these pegs for a different bike, so they're on my mind.
Re: Gear lever contacting side stand spring
Thanks for the input folks,
Tacky I don't think that they are bent but I'll check both of them.
I'll take some pics on the weekend and show what going on.

Re: Gear lever contacting side stand spring
Turned out to be a combination of problems but the main one was the "new" RZV lever was bent (cheers Tacky1) but the clevis on the side stand is also worn and when the stand is up the spring pulls the stand outward, now fixed with a shim in the clevis to take up the free play.
Thanks again for the input.
