Re: bellypan stone bracket
Hi,
You also need the top bracket - the dampers above just protect the bodywork and allow the top bracket to grip the bodywork - if you don't have one they are available from one of our forum members.
Ps the rubber dampers can be replaced by a short strip of u section rubber like you get on the screen edge trim for example - this is not 100% accurate but is cheaper and works ok.
Also lockwire the mesh section to something nearby so it isn’t lost if it comes loose.
Cheers
Paul

Re: bellypan stone bracket
Does this help ? .....
The bottom mesh is slid down into the bottom of the fairing aperture - the top bracket is slid down until it grounds onto the top of the mesh - the moles are positioned on the fairing edge so they lie under the side protrusions of the top bracket - the top bracket screws are tightened to clamp the top bracket onto to the moles and fairing - the top bracket can't move in theory and in turn this stops the mesh from moving up and falling out - in practice it can so wire the mesh to the YPVS debris shield so if the assembly comes loose you don't lose it since they are a little bit expensive to replace nowadays.
Cheers

Re: bellypan stone bracket
It's nice to have the stone guard, but not essential to install it. Unless you are riding in gravel it's a mostly useless item. I have mine in storage (so the bike is complete) but I won't install it. If you do decide to actually install it on your bike use a tether as in the photo above or risk losing it. Many have fallen off.

Nice one Paul, the tip about wiring it to the YPVS shield is a great idea.rd84 wrote:Does this help ? .....
