Kickstand Spring

#1 Post by Smoker » Thu Mar 08, 2018 8:07 am

Is Yamaha part #90507-29009-00 the correct kickstand spring for the RZV500?

Does anyone know where to get a proper fitting stainless steel spring?

Thanks!

Part number 90507-29009-00 supersedes the original spring part number 90507-29033. Available from Yamaha.

-Is part number 90507-29033 the correct kickstand spring for the RZV500?

-Does replacement part number 90507-29009-00 fit the same as original part number 90507-29033?

-Does anyone know of a stainless replacement kickstand spring that will fit the RZ500?

I've been searching, but can't find an active parts microfiche for the RZV500.

Yes 90507-29033 is the correct spring for the RZV500

90507-29009 fits the same but is bright zinc plated and the original was olive plated.

Thanks for the good info and the microfiche links!

I'll use the 29009 spring, until I find a stainless spring.

I checked out that spring supplier, too. It'll take some time to figure out if they have it.

Would this do if the length is correct? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Stainle ... kW&vxp=mtr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Would definitely do, but looks too short.

Listed as 125mm eye to eye.

Total length on the spring I have is about 138mm.

I sent a message to the seller asking for the total length.

If you are using the stock RZ side stand you do have the option of repositioning the spring tab. It's an easy cut and weld. I've had tabs moved. It's unnoticeable afterwards.

Not using the OEM stand.

Hopefully making a custom kickstand, so you're right about the spring pin placement. But, I don't want the spring coils to move up towards the upper spring pin. Need clearance to pass in front of the kickstand mounting bolt head.

Still trying to find a stainless spring that matches the OEM spring. It's a nice upgrade for any RZ500 that doesn't have to be all original.
