Hi Nick
I don't know if it will work with every damper, but no one has told me their damper doesn't work. There are many shapes and styles of damper, so I suppose it does depend on what you buy. The piston length and stroke are what matters. You want to make sure you can turn the front end lock to lock without hitting the end of the damper stroke/piston. The LSL damper on my RZ500 has a 130 mm piston and with a 90 mm stroke it is just long enough to work perfectly. Many use a 150 mm piston. There probably isn't any need to go longer than 150 mm.
That is for the steel frame. If you have an alloy RZV frame you'll want a longer damper piston because the bracket mounts about 50 mm farther aft on the frame.
Send me a PM if interested.

Re: Steering Damper Frame Mount
If you bought a damper with a 90 mm stroke and about a 130 mm piston it should fit Paul, even with an R6 front end. You need to move your damper clamp farther down on your damper to maintain a relative position. See this for details http://www.rzrd500.com/500phpBB3/viewto ... 12&t=15252" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I did advise on the differences when using the RZV frame.
